Tecia Torres vs Angela Hill Announced For UFC 188 In MexicoTUF 20 quarterfinalist Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres looks to keep her undefeated record intact when she returns to the Octagon on June 13th at UFC 188: “Velasquez vs Werdum” in Mexico City, Mexico. The talented prospect is set to face fellow striker Angela “Overkill” Hill on the card.

UFC officials announced the featured strawweight bout on Monday evening. Torres posted a lopsided Unanimous Decision win over Angela Magana in her official Octagon debut at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in December. Earlier on the same card, Hill dominated Invicta FC veteran Emily Kagan.

Torres (5-0-0) has long been regarded as one of the top prospects in the 115-pound women’s division. During her time with Invicta FC, she totalled wins over Kaiyana Rain, “12 Gauge” Paige VanZant, TUF 20 finalist “Thug” Rose Namajunas and veteran contender Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig. As a result, Torres was seen as a frontrunner to win TUF 20, but she was defeated by current UFC champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza in the quarterfinal round after receiving a second chance in the competition. She got herself back on track by handily defeating the outspoken Magana on December 12th.

Hill (2-0-0), in contrast to her opponent in June, entered TUF 20 as an underdog who was an unknown to most UFC fans. Her run on the show ended in the elimination round when she was submitted by eventual winner Esparza, but Hill’s striking pedigree and clear potential were on full display when she made her official UFC debut at the TUF 20 Finale. In one of the most dominant performances of the night, Hill battered the more experienced Kagan with punches, kicks, knees and elbows throughout their three-round bout en route to a commanding Unanimous Decision win.

UFC 188: “Velasquez vs Werdum” takes place on June 13th at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. The event is headlined by a UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Cain Velasquez and Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum.

  1. Hill looked like crap during TUF. But then looked like a different fighter against Kagan. She is probably fourth best pure striker at 115 along with Calderwood, Kish, and the current queen Joanna. But can she hold her own against a wrestler like Torres? Probably not.

Torres getting the big Mexican push. Somewhere Jag, who is totally unknown in Mexico, nevermind the states, is jealous as hell of her quickly skyrocketing friend.

  2. Torres is not a wrestler she probably can wrestle & because of her experience she probably will win.

Hill didn’t look like crap on tuf she fought the best fighter in the world with little mma experience.

If torres can’t get this fight to the ground it will be a brawl.

  3. Torres has a TKD and Muay Thai base. She has though greatly improved her wrestling and will look to smother Hill and take her down. Her ceiling is a better version of Jessica Aguilar.
