Sarah Moras Stops Julianna Peña At Conquest Of The Cage 11Undefeated Toshido Martial Arts fighter Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras scored the biggest victory of her young MMA career on Thursday night at Conquest of the Cage 11 in Airway Heights, Washington. Moras stopped hometown favourite Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Peña after the second round.

Despite close to two years away from competition, Moras showed no ill effects from the lengthy layoff and she was able to control much of the bout on the ground. Peña refused to tap out to a deep armbar, but sustained significant damage from the hold and the cageside doctor stopped the fight.

Moras (2-0-0) began her MMA career in 2010 during a trip to England, but took a break from competition for nearly two full years after relocating back to Canada. Now fighting out of Kelowna, British Columbia, Moras credits her new team – which also produced current UFC welterweight star Rory MacDonald – as instrumental in preparing her for a tough opponent in Peña (3-1-0).

On Thursday night, Moras entered hostile territory in Washington to face popular SikJitsu prospect Peña in the COTC 11 main event, but she took the crowd out of the fight by dominating her opponent for prolonged stretches. Moras was able to secure a top-side crucifix that allowed her to land a barrage of punches and elbows, but it was a second-round armbar from Moras that ultimately proved to be the deciding factor in the fight. In true SikJitsu fashion, Peña refused to submit, but her arm appeared to be badly damaged and potentially broken by the hold. She fought on until the end of round two, but on the advice of the cageside physician, the bout was waved off due to Peña’s arm injury.

With the victory on Thursday, Moras has now won all three of her MMA fights to date, including two as a professional. None of her three bouts has made it to the third round.

Winner: Sarah Moras by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) at 5:00 of round two. She improves to 2-0-0.

  1. Wow!
Hopefully Pena’s decision not to tap, doesn’t come back to haunt her.

  2. Yeah, Like Miesha’s…
