Frank Trigg The Latest To Be Cut From The UFCAfter dropping back-to-back fights in his promotional return, former two-time title challenger Frank “Twinkle Toes” Trigg is the latest name to be cut from the UFC. first reported on Trigg’s dismissal, which follows earlier reports that Mark Coleman, Tim Hague and Phillipe Nover had all been terminated from the UFC after losses at UFC 109.

Trigg returned to the Octagon at UFC 103 after a four-year absence, but suffered a first-round knockout at the hands of Josh Koscheck. He met a similar fate against Matt “The Terror” Serra this past Saturday.

Trigg (19-8-0) twice challenged Matt Hughes for the UFC Welterweight Championship, but succumbed to first-round rear-naked chokes on both occasions. He departed the UFC in 2005 after a loss to Georges “Rush” St. Pierre and later captured the ICON Sport Middleweight Championship. Trigg lost the title to “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler via fourth-round knockout in March 2007, but that would be his lone defeat until he returned to the UFC last September.

With his title aspirations halted after the losses to Koscheck and Serra, Trigg was left in a difficult position and the UFC made the call to release him from his contract. He had previously stated that his return to the UFC would be his final run in MMA, but the 12-year veteran is now undecided regarding future plans.
