Julia Budd vs Roberta Paim Rovel Planned For Bellator 146 CardFeatherweight standout Julia “The Jewel” Budd looks to extend her five-fight winning streak when she steps back into the Bellator cage on November 20th at Bellator 146 in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Budd is expected to face off against Roberta “Crusher” Paim Rovel in a featured 145-pound matchup.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the bout with Bellator officials this weekend following an initial report from Dama de Ferro MMA. Budd won her Bellator debut in February by dominating Gabrielle “Gabanator” Holloway. Paim has finished all four of her professional opponents in the first round.

Budd (7-2-0) was on the cusp of an Invicta FC featherweight title shot after winning four straight fights for the promotion, but cancelled matchups and delays in booking fights led the Canadian striker to seek out other options. She signed with Bellator this past year and debuted at Bellator 133, where she smothered Holloway for three rounds en route to an easy Unanimous Decision victory. She now faces off against one of Brazil’s top female featherweights in an intriguing matchup next month.

Paim (4-0-0) kicked off her pro MMA career in May 2013 and scored a pair of first-round stoppage wins in a four-week span. She returned to action the following May and picked up a first-round TKO triumph, then knocked out Lilian Lika in her most recent fight three months later. Paim has not fought since then, and ring rust may play a factor in her Bellator debut, but the Brazilian finisher would make a big statement if she is able to upset the highly-ranked Budd.

Bellator 146 is set to take place on November 20th at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The event features a middleweight bout between Hisaki “The Japanese Musketeer” Kato and Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef.
