Zoila Frausto vs Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger Title Fight Set For RFA 31Former Bellator champion Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto drops back down to 115 pounds in hopes of capturing another title in her RFA debut on October 9th at Resurrection Fighting Alliance 31 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frausto faces Jocelyn “Lights Out” Jones-Lybarger in the co-main event.

RFA officials announced the women’s strawweight championship fight today. Frausto recently signed with the promotion following a lengthy hiatus from MMA while competing in Muay Thai. Jones-Lybarger is 3-0 under the RFA banner, and she now seeks her biggest victory to date next month.

Frausto (12-4-0) made history in October 2010 when she became the first and only Bellator Women’s Strawweight Champion. Drastic weight cuts and subsequent injuries prevented Frausto from defending her title, and she signed with Invicta FC in early 2013 following Bellator’s decision to eliminate its women’s divisions. Competing as a flyweight, Frausto suffered back-to-back decision defeats against Brazilian standouts Jennifer Maia and Vanessa Porto, but she has since honed her striking skills with a pair of victories in professional Muay Thai bouts.

Jones-Lybarger (5-1-0) kicked off her pro career with a Unanimous Decision victory at Invicta FC 2 in July 2012. She subsequently went 1-1 under the King of the Cage banner, with her lone career defeat coming against former KOTC champion and current Sugar Creek Showdown titleholder Sarah “Too Sweet” Alpar. Inside the RFA cage, Jones-Lybarger has racked up three straight victories. She most recently defeated Maria Rios at RFA 23 in February and now returns to action in October after a planned fight with Kinberly Novaes was scrapped this past month.

Resurrection Fighting Alliance 31 takes place on October 9th at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout between Frausto and Jones-Lybarger airs live on AXS TV.
