Rose Namajunas vs Angela Hill Announced For UFC 192TUF 20 finalist “Thug” Rose Namajunas returns to action on October 3rd at UFC 192: “Cormier vs Gustafsson” in Houston, Texas. Namajunas is set to face fellow TUF 20 competitor Angela “Overkill” Hill in featured strawweight action on the card. UFC officials confirmed the fight on Monday evening.

Namajunas was initially scheduled to battle Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff at UFC 187 in May, but the bout was scrapped on mere hours’ notice when Ansaroff fell ill. Hill most recently suffered her first professional setback when she was outpointed by Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres at UFC 188.

Namajunas (2-2-0) signed on to compete on The Ultimate Fighter 20 after earning a pair of impressive submission victories for Invicta FC, and she surprised some by fighting her way to the championship final. During the gruelling competition, Namajunas submitted Alex “Astro Girl” Chambers, Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood and Randa “Quiet Storm” Markos in succession, but her bid to become the first UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion ended in defeat when she was finished by Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza at the TUF 20 Finale. She steps back into the Octagon in search of redemption in October.

Hill (2-1-0) entered TUF 20 with a strong striking pedigree but limited MMA experience, and her run on the show ended in the elimination round when she was submitted by eventual winner Esparza. After working on her ground game, Hill kicked off her official UFC career with a dominant Unanimous Decision win over Emily Kagan at the TUF 20 Finale, but she was outmatched and outgrappled by Torres at UFC 188 and dropped a lopsided decision to the unbeaten rising star. Hill now looks to bounce back from the disappointing loss when she takes on the highly-touted Namajunas.

UFC 192: “Cormier vs Gustafsson” takes place on October 3rd at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event is headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Daniel “D.C.” Cormier and Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson, and also features a women’s bantamweight matchup between TUF 18 winner Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Peña and Jessica “Evil” Eye.
