Joanne Calderwood vs Maryna Moroz Added To UFC Fight Night 64Following an impressive win in her UFC debut, Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood has received an opponent for her second UFC bout. The Scottish standout will face unbeaten Ukrainian Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz on April 11th at UFC Fight Night 64: “Gonzaga vs Cro Cop 2” in Kraków, Poland.

UFC officials announced the strawweight fight this morning. Calderwood made it to the quarterfinal round of TUF 20 before falling to “Thug” Rose Namajunas, but won her first official UFC bout in December. Moroz, who was previously signed to XFC, has finished all of her opponents to date.

Calderwood (9-0-0) quickly became one of Invicta FC’s top-ranked strawweight fighters during her time with the promotion, which included four victories that placed her on a short list of title contenders. When the UFC came looking for 115-pound talent to add to the TUF 20 roster, Calderwood signed on and won her elimination round fight by defeating Emily Kagan. She fell victim to a second-round kimura from Namajunas in the quarterfinals, but rebounded well with a three-round Unanimous Decision win over former Deep Jewels champ Seo Hee Ham atThe Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale.

Moroz (5-0-0) makes her UFC debut as an unknown to most fans, but the 23-year-old has quietly made a name for herself with key wins around the world. After debuting with a second-round submission win in her native Ukraine, Moroz travelled to China. There, she fought and submitted Kunlun Fight’s top two female fighters, Feier Huang and the much more experienced Jin “The Fighting Rose” Tang. After she secured a quick win in Russia, Moroz signed with XFC International in Brazil and won her strawweight tournament quarterfinal bout in November. She was expected to face unbeaten Hungarian Dora Perjes in the XFC semi-finals in three weeks, but that bout now appears to be off in light of her UFC signing.

UFC Fight Night 64: “Gonzaga vs Cro Cop 2” takes place on April 11th at Kraków Arena in Kraków, Poland. The event is headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Gabriel “Napão” Gonzaga and the returning Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipović, and also features a second women’s strawweight bout between Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha and Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly.
