Three More Fights Announced For Deep Jewels 4 On May 18Three additional matchups have been added to the upcoming Deep Jewels 4 card on May 18th in Tokyo, Japan. In a featured kickboxing bout, reigning Deep Jewels Featherweight Champion Seo Hee Ham makes a quick return to action to battle Shoot Boxing JKS48 tournament finalist Yuuki Kira.

Deep Jewels officials also confirmed plans for two MMA bouts on the card. Grappling specialist Ayaka Miura and BJJ purple belt Ella “Power” Wu make their respective pro MMA debuts in an intriguing matchup. Elsewhere, Tomo Maesawa looks to spoil the MMA debut of grappler Brittany Ann Decker.

Ham (13-5-0 MMA) developed a wealth of striking experience in South Korea prior to her February 2007 MMA debut, but she has focused primarily on her MMA career in recent years and competes in her first Deep Jewels kickboxing match next month. In May, Ham became the final Jewels Featherweight Queen Champion at 106 pounds and her new title carried over to Deep Jewels when the promotion debuted in August. She retained her belt in her first defence against Sadae “Manhoef” Numata at Deep Jewels 2 and most recently defeated teen prospect Shino VanHoose in South Korea eight days ago.

Kira (4-5-2 KB/SB) had her best success this past year as a part of Shoot Boxing’s second annual JKS48 high school girls’ tournament. In her quarterfinal bout, Kira earned a razor-thin decision victory over Yusa Tachi. The win propelled Kira on to the next round and she needed just 52 seconds to stop Anna Murayama in the semi-finals, but suffered a first-round knockout loss to two-time JKS48 winner Mio Tsumura in the championship final later in the night. The 17-year-old Kira fought two more times in 2013, earning a win in September and dropping a close Majority Decision in December.

Miura (0-0-0) has made three appearances to date for Jewels and Deep Jewels in grappling matches and she now prepares for her MMA debut next month. After suffering a submission defeat to Megumi Sugimoto at Jewels: “23rd Ring,” Miura won back-to-back grappling matches at “24th Ring” and Deep Jewels 2. She most recently defeated Naomi Taniyama and Brittany Ann Decker to win a one-day D-Net grappling tournament this past month. Her opponent, Wu (0-0-0), travels from England to Japan for her pro MMA debut. After competing in the amateur ranks, Wu transitioned to semi-pro rules in October and scored a one-sided Unanimous Decision win over Jemma Thomas.

Maesawa (2-3-0) got off to a shaky start in her MMA career in 2012. Stepping right into the proverbial fire, she made her MMA debut against top Jewels star Mika “Future Princess” Nagano at “21st Ring” and suffered a second-round technical submission loss. After two more defeats, Maesawa scored her first win in October and she most recently stopped former Jewels matchmaker Yasuko “Pink Spider” Mogi in December. Decker (0-0-0) transitions to MMA for the first time and looks to put forth another impressive performance for Deep Jewels. In February, she won her promotional debut by choking out Haruka Kojima in the second round of a grappling match.

Deep Jewels 4 takes place on May 18th at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The event features a Deep Jewels Middleweight Championship bout between Shizuka Sugiyama and Takayo Hashi.
