Satomi Takano To Face Miyoko Kusaka At Deep: Toyama ImpactFormer Jewels atomweight prospect Satomi “Sarami” Takano looks to get back on the winning track when she returns to action on November 17th at Deep: “Toyama Impact – Rookies 3” in Toyama, Japan. Takano is set to face off against skilled grappler Miyoko Kusaka on the card next month.

Deep officials confirmed plans for the bout this week. Takano opened her pro career with a pair of key victories for Jewels this past year, but she has suffered decision losses in each of her past two fights. Kusaka scored a much-needed victory over “Happy” Fukuko Hamada at Deep Jewels 1.

Takano (2-2-0) debuted for Jewels as an amateur fighter in March 2012 and needed just 65 seconds to submit Miyuki Irie. She turned pro four months later and posted back-to-back wins over much more experienced opponents in Yukiko Seki and the aforementioned Hamada. At Jewels: “22nd Ring” in December, Takano took a big step up in competition to face former Valkyrie champion Yasuko “Ikuko” Tamada and came up short on the scorecards. She returned to MMA at Deep Jewels 1 in August, but suffered a one-sided loss to 40-fight veteran Masako Yoshida.

Kusaka (4-6-1) sports a mediocre record, but the grappling specialist has earned a pair of notable victories in her career. In her second pro fight, Kusaka edged out future Jewels title contender Kikuyo Ishikawa. She encountered a rough patch and managed just two wins in her next eight fights. Kusaka’s most recent bout was one of her best to date, however, as she put together a solid performance against Hamada and prevailed via a well-deserved Unanimous Decision on the Deep Jewels 1 card. She now seeks another key victory next month.

Deep: “Toyama Impact – Rookies 3” takes place on November 17th at the Toyama Event Plaza in Toyama, Japan.
