Amanda Bobby Cooper Faces Heather Bassett At NAFC: UnrivaledFour-time amateur champ Amanda Bobby Cooper makes her long-awaited pro debut on November 15th at North American Fighting Championship: “Unrivaled” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cooper will face flyweight prospect Heather Bassett, who scored an impressive victory two weeks ago.

MMARising.com confirmed details of the fight and event with NAFC officials on Thursday. Cooper has won four straight fights and she has finished her opponents in all eight victories to date. Bassett followed up on a stellar amateur run of her own by winning her professional debut this past month.

Cooper (8-3-0 amateur; 0-0-0 pro) began her career as a bantamweight for Capital City Cage Fighting Championships in her home state of Michigan. She won three of her first five fights and captured the promotion’s 135-pound women’s title. Following a five-round decision loss to Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones in late 2011, Cooper dropped down to flyweight. In her first fight at 125 pounds, she knocked out Tori Music in eight seconds to claim the Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting women’s flyweight title. Cooper has since added 125-pound titles for CCCFC and Total Warrior Combat to her collection, and she now makes the transition to the professional ranks in search of her biggest win to date.

Bassett (5-2-0 amateur; 1-0-0 pro) made her amateur debut in July 2011 and secured a pair of victories that set up a showdown with current Invicta FC standout “Thug” Rose Namajunas. Bassett dropped a Unanimous Decision to the popular rising star, but she rebounded with victories in three of her next four fights and capped off her amateur career at RFA 8 in June by defeating Moriel Charneski for a second time. In her pro debut on August 31st, Bassett dropped opponent Breea Gilbert with a devastating head kick in the first round and finished the fight with a rear-naked choke seconds later. The Wisconsin native now makes her return to the NAFC cage for the first time since June 2012.

North American Fighting Championship: “Unrivaled” takes place on November 15th at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
