Ana Maria vs Dayana Silva Planned For Web Fight Combat 3Submission specialist Ana Maria “India” looks for her third victory of 2013 when she returns to the cage at Web Fight Combat 3 on September 30th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Maria is expected to face off against Dayana Silva, a veteran bantamweight contender who has won four of her past five fights.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the fight with a source close to the negotiations on Thursday. Maria has won three straight bouts and she most recently submitted Maria Elisabete “Beth” Tavares at Web Fight Combat 2. Silva competes for the first time since scoring a TKO win in June 2011.

Maria (5-4-0) has quickly re-established herself as one of Brazil’s premier female bantamweights since she returned to MMA in May following a three-year hiatus. The highly-skilled Team Nogueira grappler picked up a Unanimous Decision victory over Aline Sério on May 24th and she had expected to face Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade on the Web Fight Combat 2 card. When Andrade signed with the UFC, Tavares stepped in to face Maria in a featured bout. Maria earned her fourth submission victory when she locked on a fight-ending armbar in the final minute of round one.

Silva (4-2-0), much like her opponent did earlier this year, makes her return to MMA following a lengthy break from fighting. She competed six times during an 18-month span between December 2009 and June 2011, and her lone defeats during that time came against top contenders Carina “Barbie” Damm and current Invicta FC signee Juliana “Ju Thai” Carneiro Lima. In Silva’s most recent fight, she stopped Weyde Ventura at a Gladiators Extreme Fight event on June 11, 2011. Silva has not fought since then, however, and she faces a tough opponent for her return fight next month.

Web Fight Combat 3 is set for September 30th at a venue to be announced in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
