Kathina Catron To Face Livia Von Plettenberg At Invicta FC 6On just one day’s notice, Kathina “Kill Switch” Catron has stepped in as a last-minute replacement fighter on tomorrow night’s Invicta Fighting Championships 6 card in Kansas City, Missouri. Catron faces Livia “T-Rex” von Plettenberg in a flyweight bout on the preliminary portion of the card.

MMARising.com confirmed the change with the promotion. Von Plettenberg was first set to face Cassie “The Hulk” Robb in a 105-pound bout, but von Plettenberg weighed in at 113 pounds and the fight was scrapped. Catron earned a TKO win over Summer Artherton this past weekend in Omaha.

Catron (3-2-0) will look to make a good second impression on Invicta FC fans when she returns to the promotion on Saturday. The Oklahoma native succumbed to a 12-second flying armbar from “Thug” Rose Namajunas at Invicta FC 5, but rebounded with the win over Artherton and now steps into this fight on 24 hours’ notice. All eight of Catron’s pro and amateur wins have come inside the distance.

Von Plettenberg (1-1-0) dropped a Unanimous Decision to fellow striker Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood in a short-notice bout at Invicta FC 4 and had looked for redemption against Robb. However, she was unable to come close to the 105-pound atomweight limit and the planned fight was removed from the card. In order to proceed with 12 fights, Invicta FC officials matched von Plettenberg up against a new opponent.

Invicta Fighting Championships 6 takes place on Saturday at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is headlined by an Invicta FC Featherweight Championship rematch between Marloes “Rumina” Coenen and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.

  1. Now Cassie is off the card though she made weight. That kinda sucks.

  2. They should have suspended Plettenberg for weighing in that heavy. Highly unprofessional to show up to weigh ins over weight, especially for the greatest fight card in WMMA. Disappointing and sucks that Robb put in the work and did the weight cut for nothing.
