Heather Clark vs Stephanie Eggink Targeted For XFC 21“Hurricane” Heather Clark and Stephanie “Snowflake” Eggink will face off in a featured strawweight bout at Xtreme Fighting Championships 21: “Night of Champions 2” on December 7th in Nashville, Tennessee. MMARising.com confirmed plans for the fight with a source close to the negotiations today.

Both fighters will be making their 115-pound debuts after campaigns in the flyweight division. Clark is coming off of a quick submission victory at XFC 18 in June and has won five of her past six fights. Eggink looks to get back on the winning track after suffering her first professional loss in March.

Clark (5-2-0) earned stoppage wins in each of her three fights in 2011 including a ten-second knockout of April Coutino in January. She made her XFC debut in February of this year and started strong against fellow prospect Marianna “The Crushen Russian” Kheyfets, but suffered an eye injury from an elbow strike late in the opening round. The doctor stopped the fight and Clark suffered a disappointing loss as a result. She rebounded in impressive fashion, however, and made short work of Avery “Psycho” Vilche at XFC 18. Clark dominated the brief bout on the ground before securing a rear-naked choke for the submission victory. All five of Clark’s wins have come inside the distance.

Eggink (1-1-0) fought four times as an amateur in 2010 and earned three wins against tough opponents including former Tuff-N-Uff champion Jillian “Justice” Lybarger and three-time amateur titleholder Cheryl “Kid Chaos” Chan. Her lone defeat came via Split Decision in a September 2010 Tuff-N-Uff flyweight title bout with Jenny Yum. In June 2011, Eggink made the jump to the professional ranks and needed just over two minutes to submit Trisha Clark. She returned to action in March of this year, but suffered a vicious seven-second knockout loss to Kaline Medeiros that left Eggink with a severe concussion. Now fully recovered, Eggink looks to upset Clark in her XFC strawweight debut.

Xtreme Fighting Championships 21: “Night of Champions 2” takes place on December 7th at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The event airs live on AXS TV.
