Tecia Torres vs Amber Stautzenberger Title Bout Set For July 16Top-ranked amateur standout Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres looks for her second title win of 2012 when she faces Amber Stautzenberger at American Battle Championship: “Rumble At Renegades 11” on July 16th in West Palm Beach, Florida. The 115-pound title bout was announced on Monday.

Torres captured the MMA Solutions 115-pound women’s championship in May with a decision win in her home state of Florida and remains unbeaten in her MMA career. Texas native Stautzenberger has finished three of her four conquered opponents and is coming off of a quick submission victory.

Torres (5-0-0) has maintained an active fighting schedule since her September 2011 debut and she has enjoyed a quick rise to the top of the 115-pound amateur ranks. The 22-year-old Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu practitioner has developed a well-rounded game that has led to victories in each of her five fights. Torres has most recently earned decision wins over veteran Sarah “TNT” McLeod and the previously unbeaten Jamie Moyle; the latter of which earned her the MMA Solutions title. She is now set to compete for her second championship of the year when she makes her ABC promotional debut next month.

Stautzenberger (4-2-0) debuted at age 20 and suffered a TKO setback in her first fight, but the BJJ blue belt has won four of five bouts since and has progressively moved down in weight in preparation for her professional debut at 115 pounds. Now 24, Stautzenberger has eyes on turning pro this year, but she will first test the waters at 115 against a tough opponent in hopes of capping off her amateur career with a big win over Torres. Stautzenberger has not fought since June 2011, but she has earned submission finishes in two of her past three fights and will have a significant size advantage over her opponent.

American Battle Championship: “Rumble At Renegades 11” takes place on July 16th at Renegades Country Bar and Grill in West Palm Beach, Florida. The bout between Torres and Stautzenberger will be contested for the ABC 115-pound amateur women’s championship.
