Default Unified Women's Pro MMA Rankings - May

The Unified Women’s Pro MMA Rankings are assembled each month by a panel of journalists from multiple MMA websites and publications. These rankings were the first women’s mixed martial arts rankings by division and weight class and are considered by most media outlets as the official women’s MMA rankings.

Fighters under suspension or who have not competed within the past 12 months are not eligible to be ranked. Fighters who vacate a weight class will no longer be ranked in that division.

The Unified Women’s Pro MMA Rankings for August have now been released and thanks to the amazing fights at Invicta FC 2 there are many changes, especially within the Bantamweight division. Fresh off of her "Fight of the Year" performance against 2nd ranked Sarah Kaufman in March, Alexis Davis did what no other fighter had managed to do in 28-career bouts, and that was to submit submission specialist Hitomi Akano. This win was Davis' third over a top-10 opponent within the past year and thus moves her up into the 3rd spot. Sara McMann and Shayna Baszler had a fantastic three round war, with McMann taking the victory and the 4th position in the rankings. Based on her performance, Baszler returns to the ranks at 7th. Liz Carmouche had another impressive showing, this time over Kaitlin Young which moved her into 6th position. Sarah D'Alelio and Amanda Nunes burst into the rankings via their stoppage victories over Vanessa Porto and Raqual Pa'aluhi, respectively. At Flyweight, Carla Esparza continued her climb towards the top, making it to the 4th position with a TKO victory over Sarah Schneider. Also, with fighters dropping due to inactivity, Ashley Cummins and Patricia Vidonic move into the 9th and 10th spots. In the Atomweight division, Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc's impressive showing over Angelica Chavez moved her into the 9th spot.
