As of right now, Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira is scheduled to fight Cheick Kongo in a #1 Contender's bout early in 2008 to determine who will challenge Randy Couture for the title.
Houston Alexander is fighting Thiago Silva at UFC 78, which should be an amazing fight, for as long as it lasts. Alexander will either win by very early KO or be knocked out or submitted himself. Either way, I see that fight being extremely fast-paced, and over in less than three minutes.
Rashad Evans is fighting against Michael Bisping, much to the chagrin of Matt Hamill. Hamill had minor knee surgery, but would have been fine to fight at UFC 79. Apparently, Bisping didn't want to wait that long. Tito Ortz is currently taking time off to heal injuries, so his rematch with Rashad is off for a while. In the meantime, Evans and Bisping will square off in what seems to be the main event of UFC 78.
Roger Huerta will be fighting Clay Guida on the finale of TUF Season 6. Barring some sort of quick victory or bizarre occurrence, this fight will likely be the Fight of the Year, hands down. Given the number of excellent fights in 2007, that is saying something.
Chuck Liddell might still be fighting Wanderlei Silva afterall. Chuck was supposed to be fighting against Shogun next, but Shogun's knee surgery has put a stop to that. Unless the UFC puts Wanderlei against Forrest Griffin in December, it seems likely that the 6+ year wait for the Liddell/Silva battle might finally come to an end, despite Chuck's recent defeats to Keith Jardine and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Regardless of the fact that Liddell and Silva are both coming off of two losses, the fight will probably be the biggest draw in UFC history, if not MMA history. We'll see.
