Joselyne “La Pantera” Edwards Laboriel vs Yanan “Mulan” Wu

Round 1:
Following an early exchange of strikes, Wu took Edwards down and Edwards postured for an armbar from the bottom. Edwards extended Wu’s arm, but Wu pressed down with her knee on Edwards’s chest and she eventually pulled her arm out. Edwards tried to scramble up to her feet and Wu kept her down with a kimura attempt before transitioning to Edwards’s back. Edwards shook her off and took top position, then moved to Wu’s back. She landed punches from back control until Wu spun into her guard, and the round ended with Wu striking from the top. 10-9 Edwards.

Round 2:
Wu opened the second round with body kicks and she continued to press the action. An elbow and a side kick landed for Wu, which prompted Edwards to fire back with a combination. Wu shot in for a takedown and Edwards reversed into top position. She landed a series of right hands to Wu’s face as Wu returned to her feet against the cage. Edwards lost her balance while rushing forward with punches and fell, but she landed a hard upkick to Wu’s face that forced Wu to back away. A brief clinch followed on the feet and Edwards punched her way free. Punches were exchanged late in the round and Edwards landed lunging hooks before the bell. 10-9 Edwards.

Round 3:
Wu landed a nice combination early in round three and she fought off an Edwards takedown attempt. Both women landed flurries of punches and Edwards finished with a leg kick. Wu circled on the outside and picked her shots with single strikes. Combinations were exchanged again and Edwards chased after Wu with lunging punches and a spinning backfist attempt. Wu fought off a takedown in the final seconds and she landed two standing elbows. Close round. 10-9 Wu.

Winner: Joselyne Edwards Laboriel by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 10-2-0.

 

Carlos “Boi” Felipe vs Justin “Bad Man” Tafa

Round 1:
The fight opened with an exchange of leg kicks and Tafa landed a hard kick to Felipe’s body. Felipe landed two right hands in return and Tafa continued to attack with leg kicks. Punches were exchanged and Tafa landed a hard leg kick that caused Felipe to wince momentarily. Time was called when Tafa was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Tafa landed more leg kicks. He knocked Felipe off-balance with one and followed with a lead right hook. Tafa landed leg and body kicks and Felipe fired back with a pair of overhand rights. 10-9 Tafa.

Round 2:
Felipe was more aggressive with his punches to open the second round, but Tafa landed another hard body kick and a straight left hand soon after. Two more hooks to the body scored for Tafa and Felipe responded with an overhand right. Tafa mixed up his strikes effectively with body kicks and combinations. This led to an exchange of power punches and Tafa attacked with another hard body kick. Time was called and Felipe was sternly warned for extending his fingers into Tafa’s eyes. The fight continued and Felipe hurt Tafa with a flurry of punches to the head and body. Tafa, wincing in pain, retreated to the cage and Felipe landed more punches. The fighters separated and exchanged uppercuts and right hooks late in the round. 10-9 Felipe due to the late rally.

Round 3:
Big punches were exchanged right away in the final round and Felipe pressed forward with a combination to the body. Both men landed three-punch flurries and time was called when Felipe was poked in the eye. Action resumed and both men targeted the body with strikes. Tafa clinched and backed Felipe up against the cage. Felipe stayed on his feet and he broke free with a quick combination. Tafa briefly tripped Felipe to the mat, but Felipe returned to his feet and another clinch battle ensued. Tafa punched to the body while keeping Felipe pinned against the fence. Felipe circled away with 30 seconds remaining and an exchange of heavy power hooks followed. 10-9 Tafa.

Winner: Carlos Felipe by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 10-1-0.

 

Ramazan “Gorets” Emeev vs David “Sagat” Zawada

Round 1:
Zawada began the fight with a leg kick and knees in a clinch, but Emeev broke free with an overhand right that backed Zawada up. He recovered and resumed attacking with leg kicks. Emeev swept out his leg and took him down, but Zawada quickly scrambled up to his feet. He remained active in the clinch with knees to the body and short right hands. A high knee landed for Zawada, but Emeev caught his leg and took him down. Emeev moved to half-guard and Zawada worked for a kimura from the bottom. Zawada stood up against the cage and ate a flurry of hard punches from Emeev on the way. Zawada landed two leg kicks before the end of the back-and-forth round. 10-9 Emeev.

Round 2:
Emeev took Zawada down early in round two and he briefly struck from the top until Zawada kicked him off. The fighters clinched against the cage and Emeev countered a knee with a quick right hand. Both men landed right hooks and Emeev kicked to the body. Zawada easily thwarted a takedown attempt from Emeev, but Emeev landed an overhand right on the break. An exchange of leg kicks followed and Emeev landed a nice one-two. He followed with a right hook, but Zawada targeted his lead leg with two powerful kicks. Zawada fought off a takedown and Emeev closed out the round by landing two short elbows in a clinch. Close round. 10-9 Zawada.

Round 3:
The final round began with a takedown from Emeev as Zawada bled heavily from a cut beside his left eye that was opened by Emeev’s elbows right at the end of round two. Zawada battled back to his feet and he countered a guillotine choke from Emeev by taking him down. Zawada moved to side control and then used short punches to set up a pass to mount. Emeev powered out from the bottom and impressively returned to his feet. Both men landed punch-kick combos and Emeev clinched momentarily. Zawada broke free and landed a leg kick, with Emeev firing back with a right hook. Very close fight. 10-9 Zawada.

Winner: Ramazan Emeev by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 20-4-0.

 

Vanessa “Miss Simpatia” Melo vs Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras

Round 1:
Moras circled on the outside early on and she countered Melo’s boxing with kicks to her lead leg. Moras jabbed and Melo responded with a nice lead left hook. Moras moved to her left and she continued to throw jabs as Melo walked her down with one-twos. This continued throughout the final minute until Melo landed a left hook to the body. Moras landed more jabs before time expired. Very close round. 10-9 Melo by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Melo continued to chase after Moras in the second round and she bloodied Moras’s nose with a left hook that also knocked Moras’s mouthpiece out. Time was called to replace it and Melo continued to throw left hands as Moras kicked at her lead leg. A hard right cross landed for Melo with just over two minutes remaining in the round. Melo remained the aggressor and she landed jabs and overhand rights. Moras shot in for a takedown and Melo stuffed it. 10-9 Melo.

Round 3:
Both women landed jabs in the final round and Moras followed with a leg kick. Melo pressed forward and she countered a leg kick with a lead left hook. With two minutes to go, Moras landed a hard leg kick and she followed with another one. Moras began to land jab-cross combos and the pace quickened late in the fight. Both women landed combinations before the final bell. Another close round. 10-9 Moras.

Winner: Vanessa Melo by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 11-8-0.

 

Austin “Lights Out” Lingo vs Jacob “The Killer” Kilburn

Round 1:
Lingo dropped Kilburn in the opening seconds with a left-right combo, but Kilburn got back to his feet and the fighters clinched against the cage. After separating, Lingo rocked Kilburn with another two-punch combo and he kept the pressure on with overhand rights. Kilburn weathered the storm and he looked for a single-leg takedown. Lingo broke free and he continued to outstrike Kilburn as the round progressed. Lingo jabbed and set up more right hands in the final minute and Kilburn cracked him with a spinning backfist shortly before the bell. 10-8 Lingo.

Round 2:
The second round began with Lingo landing more left-right combos until Kilburn dropped levels and took him down. Lingo battled back to his feet and he continued to score with hard right hands. Kilbur attempted two more takedowns and Lingo stuffed them. He scored with another one-two and a clinch ensued against the cage. Kilburn finally dragged Lingo down, but Lingo escaped from his grasp and stood up. He tripped Kilburn and escaped from a guillotine choke. The fighters stood and Lingo blocked a head kick. 10-9 Lingo.

Round 3:
Lingo opened the final round with a combination and he reversed a takedown attempt into back control. Kilburn turned to his side and attacked with a kimura from the bottom. He used the kimura to roll through and briefly held top position. Lingo pulled his arm free and stood up, with Kilburn following. After a brief clinch, Kilburn landed a combination and Lingo responded with a right hand. As time wound down, Lingo countered a right cross from Kilburn with a quick flurry and a lead left hook. The fight ended with an exchange of punches in the clinch. 10-9 Lingo.

Winner: Austin Lingo by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 8-1-0.
