Tim “The Dirty Bird” Means vs Laureano “Pepi” Staropoli

Round 1:
Means took Staropoli down right away, but Staropoli scrambled up to his feet and he broke free from a clinch. Starapoli landed a one-two and a right hook, then followed with a leg kick. Both men landed one-twos and Means kicked at Staropoli’s lead leg. More power punches were exchanged and Means landed two uppercuts. Staropoli threw a spinning hook kick that grazed Means’s head. Means clinched and Staropoli countered with a back elbow strike. Time was called when Staropoli was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Means landed a hard left hook. Staropoli threw side kicks to the body and a nice one-two. Close opening round. 10-9 Staropoli.

Round 2:
Staropoli scored with a spinning back elbow and a flurry of punches early in round two. Means recovered and clinched briefly. The fighters separated and exchanged punches until Means dropped Staropoli with a head kick. He dove in with hammerfists on the ground, but Staropoli recovered and rose to his feet. Means stayed active with punches and Staropoli answered with a combination. Means snapped Staropoli’s head back with jabs and one-twos. Staropoli missed with spinning attacks, but he landed leg kicks that prompted Means to clinch. The fighters broke free and Means landed a combination in the final seconds. 10-9 Means.

Round 3:
Both men landed punching combinations in the opening minutes of the final round. Means clinched and took Staropoli’s back as he worked for a takedown. Staropoli stayed on his feet and Means kept him pinned against the cage. The fighters were separated after Means grabbed the cage, but Means clinched again after the restart and he prevented Staropoli from getting off of the fence. Quick punches were exchanged and Means looked for a takedown in the final seconds. 10-9 Means.

Winner: Tim Means by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 30-12-1, 1 NC.

 

Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland vs Joaquin “New Mansa” Buckley

Round 1:
Buckley opened the fight with looping punches to the head and body. Time was called when Holland was punched in the groin, but action resumed and Buckley fired off more heavy punches. Holland cut him with short elbows in close and he tied Buckley up in a clinch. Buckley broke free and Holland kicked at his lead leg. Big punches were exchanged and Buckley flurried to the body again. Time was called for a second time when Holland was punched in the groin. The fight continued and Buckley ducked under a head kick. He countered with a one-two, but Holland dropped him with a right hand. Buckley recovered and got back to his feet as Holland threw more punches. Late in the round, Holland landed a knee and a side kick. He rushed at Buckley with punches and lunging hammerfists at the bell. 10-9 Holland.

Round 2:
More punches were exchanged early in round two and Buckley continued to throw hooks to the head and body. Holland jabbed and threw a side kick before Buckley attacked with overhand lefts. Holland landed front kicks in return and a right cross that knocked Buckley’s mouthpiece out. Action resumed and Buckley punched his way into a clinch. Holland broke free and he landed a body kick and an uppercut. Two step-in elbows partially landed for Holland and he threw more side kicks. Buckley clinched and Holland landed two knees late in the close round. 10-9 Holland.

Round 3:
Holland landed two body kicks to begin the final round and Buckley answered with punches to the body. Holland circled away and he landed a counter right cross as Buckley moved forward. Buckley’s mouthpiece went flying and he collapsed to the canvas. Buckley was clearly badly hurt and referee Mark Smith waved off the fight.

Winner: Kevin Holland by KO (Punch) at 0:32 of round three. He improves to 18-5-0.

 

Nasrat Haqparast vs Alex Munoz

Round 1:
Munoz scored a brief takedown in the opening minute and the fighters battled in a clinch against the cage after standing back up. Time was called when Haqparast was kneed in the groin. Action resumed and both men landed hard left hooks. Haqparast followed with an uppercut and he chased after Munoz with punches. Lead right hooks hurt Munoz and he circled away while buying time to recover. Haqparast fought off a takedown attempt and he landed a counter left hook, then cracked Munoz with an uppercut. Another flurry landed for Haqparast and Munoz answered with a knee. He landed another one before the bell. 10-9 Haqparast.

Round 2:
The second round began with Haqparast landing more quick left hooks and uppercuts. He kept Munoz on the defensive and easily stuffed one of his takedown attempts. Haqparast hurt Munoz with a three-punch combo and he fought off a Munoz takedown attempt. Munoz recovered, but Haqparast cracked him with another hard left hook. He followed with more hooks and uppercuts that opened a cut below Munoz’s right eye. Haqparast continued to score with left hands late in the round. 10-9 Haqparast.

Round 3:
Munoz was more aggressive early in the final round and he used a combination to set up a takedown attempt. Haqparast stuffed it and landed left hands in return. The fighters traded punches during the next two minutes and Munoz fared better than in the previous two rounds. He punched his way into a clinch and Haqparast countered with uppercuts. He hurt Munoz with a big flurry to the body and Munoz winced in pain while circling away. He recovered and both men landed punches before the final bell. 10-9 Haqparast.

Winner: Nasrat Haqparast by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 12-3-0.

 

Andrew “El Dirte” Sanchez vs Wellington Turman

Round 1:
Sanchez held Turman against the cage in the opening minute and he landed short punches and knees. Turman eventually broke free and Sanchez landed jabs. Turman responded with two big left hooks that led to an exchange of power punches. Turman scored with a leg kick and a spinning back kick to the body. Sanchez used his jab to set up a right hook and he followed with one-twos. More right hands landed for Turman and Sanchez fired right back with overhand rights. He backed Turman up with a combination and dropped him with a massive right hand. Turman was immediately rendered unconscious and referee Herb Dean rushed in to rescue him as Sanchez landed follow-up hammerfists.

Winner: Andrew Sanchez by KO (Punch) at 4:14 of round one. He improves to 12-5-0.

 

Gavin “The Newfoundland Terror” Tucker vs Justin “Guitar Hero” Jaynes

Round 1:
Tucker landed a quick one-two and a grazing head kick to open the fight. He followed with another head kick and Jaynes blocked it. Tucker continued to throw kicks and he stayed outside of Jaynes’s punching range. A hard liver kick landed for Tucker and he remained aggressive with kicks and punching combos. Jaynes floored Tucker with an uppercut and he tried to finish him with punches from the top. Tucker recovered and stood up, and Jaynes chased after him with more punches. Jaynes jumped into a guillotine choke, but Tucker escaped and took mount in the process. He locked on a tight arm-triangle choke, but Jaynes survived until the end of the crazy round. 10-9 Tucker despite the knockdown.

Round 2:
Tucker was more aggressive with his striking to begin round two and he resumed landing body kicks and combinations. He followed with a knee and more body kicks, then knocked out Jaynes’s mouthpiece with an uppercut. Time was called to replace it and action resumed with Tucker landing non-stop punches and body kicks. With one minute to go, Jaynes finally fired back with lunging uppercuts, but Tucker battered him with punches to the head and body. Jaynes retreated to the cage and Tucker attacked with another knee and more kicks. 10-9 Tucker.

Round 3:
Jaynes landed a combination early in the final round, but Tucker hurt him badly with a knee and Jaynes shot in for a desperation takedown. Tucker took his back and immediately attempted a rear-naked choke. After a few tries, he sunk in the choke and Jaynes tapped out.

Winner: Gavin Tucker by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:43 of round three. He improves to 12-1-0.

 

Youssef “The Moroccan Devil” Zalal vs “Slippery” Pete Barrett

Round 1:
Zalal opened the action with two leg kicks and he floored Barrett with a spinning back kick. Barrett was badly hurt, but he managed to weather a storm of punches from Zalal on the ground. Barrett got back to his feet and Zalal landed two flying knees. He followed with single punches and leg kicks in the ensuing minute until Barrett punched his way into a clinch. He took Zalal’s back and tried to suplex him down to the mat. Zalal defended and he landed two knees before breaking free from the clinch. 10-9 Zalal.

Round 2:
The second round began with an exchange of leg and body kicks. Zalal countered a knee with a body-lock takedown and he quickly took Barrett’s back. Zalal worked for a rear-naked choke and Barrett defended. He tried to shake Zalal off of his back, but Zalal adjusted his position and he completely flattened Barrett out. Zalal landed hammerfists and locked on a rear-naked choke, but Barrett managed to break his grip and made it to the bell. 10-9 Zalal, if not a 10-8.

Round 3:
Both men landed knees in brief clinches early in the final round and Zalal landed a four-punch flurry. He clinched and took Barrett down, then attempted an arm-triangle choke from the top. Barrett defended well and returned to his feet. Zalal landed more strikes in close and he took Barrett down again. With just over one minute remaining, Zalal mounted Barrett and he landed short elbows before taking Barrett’s back. Barrett fought off a rear-naked choke and shook Zalal off of his back. In the final seconds, Zalal threw rapid-fire upkicks from his back as Barrett stood over him. 10-9 Zalal.

Winner: Youssef Zalal by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 10-2-0.

 

Irwin “The Beast” Rivera vs Ali “The Royal Fighter” AlQaisi

Round 1:
Rivera secured an early clinch and scored a body-lock takedown into side control. AlQaisi scrambled on the bottom and got back to his feet after Rivera landed a handful of strikes from the top. AlQaisi attempted a head kick and the fighters clinched again after a body kick from Rivera. He jumped into a guillotine choke and tried to use it to pull guard, but AlQaisi landed on top in half-guard and Rivera let go of the choke. He tried to stand up and AlQaisi trapped him in a front headlock. He landed two knees as Rivera stood up and tripped him to the mat with 20 seconds remaining. AlQaisi retained top position until the bell. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 AlQaisi.

Round 2:
Both men landed kicks to the body in the second round and AlQaisi scored with a lead left hook. He followed with a right hand and more punches were exchanged. AlQaisi tripped Rivera, but Rivera got back to his knees and blasted him with right hands to the face. The fighters stood and traded more punches. Both men landed knees and Rivera tried for a flying scissor takedown. AlQaisi defended and the fighters stood before the end of the close round. 10-9 Rivera by a slim margin.

Round 3:
Power punches were exchanged in the final round and Rivera opened a cut on the bridge of AlQaisi’s nose. AlQaisi responded with a one-two and Rivera landed a hard leg kick. Time was called after AlQaisi was kneed in the groin. Action resumed and Rivera landed a jumping knee followed by a quick combination. He took AlQaisi down and landed two hard knees on the way back up. Rivera landed punches on the feet and the fight ended in a clinch. 10-9 Rivera.

Winner: Irwin Rivera by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 10-5-0.
