Trevin “The Problem” Giles vs “The” James Krause

Round 1:
Giles countered early leg kicks from Krause with jabs and overhand rights. He followed with a lead left hook, but Krause took him down and transitioned to the back as Giles tried to stand up. Krause attempted a series of rear-naked chokes and Giles defended well. Krause landed hammerfists and set up another rear-naked choke. Giles appeared to be in trouble, but he managed to escape by turning to his side. Krause regained back control again, but Giles turned into his guard and postured up with elbows and punches. On the feet, Giles landed an elbow and Krause responded with a knee. 10-9 Krause despite the late rally from Giles.

Round 2:
Krause narrowly blocked a head kick from Giles early in round two and he fired back with leg kicks in return. A three-punch flurry hurt Krause and he retreated to the cage. Giles moved in with more punches, but Krause recovered and clinched. Giles defended against a takedown attempt and stunned Krause again with hooks and uppercuts. Krause shot in with a takedown, but Giles reversed on the way down and worked from the top in Krause’s half-guard. Giles postured up with hammerfists and Krause tried to counter with an armbar. Giles landed more hard right hands and he took Krause’s back with seconds to go. He locked on a rear-naked choke, but Krause was saved by the bell. 10-8 Giles.

Round 3:
Giles opened round three with a combination and Krause scored with a series of leg kicks in return that appeared to hurt Giles. Krause continued to throw leg kicks and Giles responded with a flurry. A solid combination landed for Krause and Giles quickly responded with two heavy right hooks. The fighters clinched and Krause landed an elbow and a knee. Giles threw uppercuts in close and Krause circled away. A knee and an elbow landed for Krause, who clinched twice in search of takedowns. Giles defended well and he landed a big right hand as Krause clinched for a third time. Giles attempted a late takedown and Krause stuffed it. Close final round. 10-9 Krause.

Winner: Trevin Giles by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 12-2-0.

 

“Lucky” Lauren Murphy vs Andrea “KGB” Lee

Round 1:
Quick jabs and leg kicks were exchanged right away and Lee followed with body kicks. Both fighters landed jabs and Murphy scored with a knee in a Thai clinch. Time was called twice to replace Lee’s mouthpiece. Action resumed and the fighters continued to jab-cross combos. Murphy followed with another flurry, but Lee responded with a head kick and follow-up kicks to the body. Murphy pressed forward and Lee countered with leg kicks and jabs from a distance. Murphy connected with a right hand and Lee fired back with two uppercuts. She got Murphy down to her knees and landed an illegal knee to Murphy’s jaw, but Murphy reversed the takedown before the referee could intervene and she worked from the top. Lee escaped to her feet before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Lee by a slim margin.

Round 2:
The fighters continued to trade jabs and right hands in the second round and Lee once again mixed in body kicks. A nice combination landed for Murphy and Lee answered back with another body kick. Murphy had success with a knee and short uppercuts in close. Lee responded with jabs and right hands that led to a brief clinch. Lee landed a head kick and grazed with a second one soon after. She began to land kick-punch combos again and that prompted Murphy to clinch. Lee broke free and scored with a lunging one-two. She continued to move forward and landed another flurry, but Murphy took her down just before the bell. Another close round. 10-9 Murphy, barely.

Round 3:
Both women landed punches early in the final round and Lee lost her mouthpiece again. Murphy fell while throwing a kick and Lee attempted an Anaconda choke on the ground. Murphy freed her head and wound up on top in Lee’s guard. Lee scrambled up and time was called to replace her mouthpiece. Action resumed and the fighters battled in a clinch against the cage. Lee landed knees to the body and broke free. She walked forward with a hard combination to the body and head before the end of the fight. 10-9 Lee.

Winner: Lauren Murphy by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 12-4-0.

 

Kalinn “Khaos The Ox Fighter” Williams vs Alex “The Great White” Morono

Round 1:
Williams landed an early leg kick and he rocked Morono with a left hook. He swarmed in with more punches as Morono retreated to the cage. An uppercut floored Morono and Williams landed more punches until the brief fight was stopped.

Winner: Kalinn Williams by KO (Punches) at 0:27 of round one. He improves to 10-1-0.

 

Mario Bautista vs Miles “Chapo” Johns

Round 1:
Bautista opened the fight with feints and a flying knee attempt as he kept the pressure on Johns in the opening minute. Right hands were exchanged and Bautista looked to set up an uppercut. Both men landed leg kicks and Bautista pressed forward with a kick-punch combo. Johns responded with a big right hand and he followed with two jabs. A one-two scored for Johns and Bautista partially landed with a jumping switch knee. 10-9 Johns due to the late-round offence.

Round 2:
Both men landed hard right hands in the second round and Bautista continued to look for a head kick knockout. It was a flying switch knee that did the damage, however, as Bautista landed one to Johns’s jaw and Johns collapsed to the mat. Bautista followed up with punches and referee Dan Miragliotta waved off the fight.

Winner: Mario Bautista by TKO (Flying Knee & Punches) at 1:41 of round two. He improves to 8-1-0.

 

Journey Newson vs Domingo “Son of Fire” Pilarte

Round 1:
Pilarte stunned Newson with a head kick right away and he followed with another kick and punches. Newson circled away and recovered. Seconds later, he landed a massive right hand that sent Pilarte crashing to the canvas. Pilarte attempted to get up, but Newson landed more punches on the ground and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Journey Newson by KO (Punches) at 0:38 of round one. He improves to 10-2-0.

 

Andre “Mr. Highlight” Ewell vs Jonathan “Dragon” Martinez

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of leg kicks and Ewell followed with an overhand right. Martinez caught a body kick and tripped Ewell, but he rose to his feet and flurried with punches. Martinez hurt Ewell with a liver kick and he followed with more kicks, but Ewell recovered and circled away. Quick punches were exchanged and Martinez countered a left hook with a knee. He shot in for a takedown and Ewell stuffed it. In the final seconds, the fighters traded haymaker punches. Ewell landed a hard one-two and Martinez countered with a left hook. Good round. 10-9 Martinez.

Round 2:
Martinez jabbed early in round two and Ewell countered with two- and three-punch combos. He easily avoided a takedown attempt and landed another one-two. Martinez landed a leg kick and Ewell replied with four punches to the body and head. Big power punches were exchanged and Ewell landed a right-left combo and a body kick. Ewell ducked under a head kick attempt and countered with three punches, but Martinez hurt him with another liver kick. Martinez kept the pressure on with punches and he dropped Ewell with a leg kick in the final seconds. Very close round. 10-9 Martinez due to the late rally.

Round 3:
Ewell appeared to be suffering from a hand or wrist injury as the final round began and Martinez kept the pressure on with quick punches and leg and body kicks. Ewell finally landed a flurry in return, but Martinez remained the aggressor and he walked Ewell down with more punches and a leg kick. Martinez continued to target Ewell’s lead leg with kicks and Ewell flurried to the body in return. Another hard leg kick landed for Martinez and Ewell switched stances. The fight ended with an exchange of power punches. 10-9 Martinez.

A computer crash at cageside resulted in a delay in the announcement of the judges’ scores. The decision was met with heavy boos from the crowd, and particularly for the nonsensical 30-27 Ewell scorecard.

Winner: Andre Ewell by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 16-6-0.

 

Youssef “The Moroccan Devil” Zalal vs Austin “Lights Out” Lingo

Round 1:
Lingo closed the distance with punches early on and Zalal countered with a knee in a brief clinch. The fighters separated and Zalal landed a head kick and worked for a takedown. Lingo, bleeding from the nose, reversed the clinch and the fighters separated. A hard right hand landed for Lingo and Zalal tried again for a takedown. He landed knees to Lingo’s body and head and both men landed power punches after separating. Zalal secured a takedown in the final minute, but Lingo scrambled up to his feet. He got Zalal down and Zalal countered with a kimura before the bell. 10-9 Zalal.

Round 2:
Zalal shot in for a takedown in round two and he got Lingo down against the cage. Both fighters landed short elbow strikes on the ground and Zalal attempted a Brabo choke when Lingo tried to scramble up to his feet. Zalal tried to tighten the choke while pulling guard, but Lingo spun free. On the feet, Zalal secured a clinch and took Lingo down. Lingo tried to counter with a guillotine choke, but Zalal easily escaped and the fighters stood up. Zalal threw a head kick in the final few seconds. 10-9 Zalal.

Round 3:
Zalal faked a takedown and landed a knee-punch combo in the final round. Lingo landed a combination in return, but Zalal continued to circle on the outside and he used jabs to set up a trip takedown. He briefly looked for another Brabo choke before working from top position in Lingo’s guard. Short elbows landed for Zalal and Lingo briefly got back to his feet. Zalal dragged him back down with another Brabo choke, but this time Lingo quickly escaped and stood up. In the final 40 seconds, Zalal tripped Lingo and he tried for a guillotine choke and another Brabo choke before time expired. 10-9 Zalal.

Winner: Youssef Zalal by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 8-2-0.
