Ryan “The Wizard” Hall vs Gray “The Bully” Maynard

Round 1:
Hall rolled for unorthodox takedowns in the early goings and Maynard cracked him with a right hand. Hall dropped down for a leglock and transitioned to a guillotine choke. The fight returned to the feet and Hall continued to roll for takedowns. Maynard threw right hands and Hall responded with body kicks. More right hands landed for Maynard and he avoided Hall’s flops and attempts to take the fight to the mat. 10-10.

Round 2:
Hall landed a head kick in round two, but he remained unsuccessful with his rolling takedown attempts. Maynard landed right hands and Hall flopped to his back each time. He stood and stunned Maynard with a side kick to the face. Hall ducked into a grazing head kick and he ate a hard right hand after returning to his feet. 10-10.

Round 3:
Maynard kicked at a downed Hall’s legs after Hall rolled for a takedown in the final round. Hall stood and landed another side kick to the face. He got Maynard down with a rolling leglock, but Maynard kicked his way free and returned to his feet. A head kick landed for Hall and he followed with another one. Maynard countered a side kick with brief ground and pound after Hall flopped to his back. The lacklustre fight ended with another side kick from Hall. 10-9 Hall.

Winner: Ryan Hall by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 6-1-0.

 

Rob Font vs Matt “Danger” Schnell

Round 1:
Font scored a takedown early in round one and he avoided a guillotine choke attempt. Font struck from the top and transitioned to Schnell’s back in search of a rear-naked choke. Schnell scrambled free and stood up, and he landed leg kicks and a right hand. Font stunned him with a front kick and a barrage of punches, but Schnell quickly recovered and he rushed forward with hooks. A big knee sent Schnell crashing to the canvas and Font unloaded with elbows. He flattened Schnell out and finished him off with right hands to the temple.

Winner: Rob Font by KO (Punches) at 3:47 of round one. He improves to 13-2-0.

 

Dong Hyun “Maestro” Kim vs Brendan “The Badger” O’Reilly

Round 1:
The fighters battled for position in a clinch throughout the opening two minutes until Kim slammed O’Reilly down and began striking from the top. He passed to side control and took O’Reilly’s back on the way up. Kim landed a knee to a grounded O’Reilly that appeared to be illegal, and he dragged him down and worked for a rear-naked choke. O’Reilly scrambled and Kim alternated between mounted elbows and rear-naked choke attempts. 10-9 Kim.

Round 2:
Kim quickly tripped O’Reilly to the mat in the second round and he resumed striking from the top. Kim threw knees from side control until O’Reilly kicked off of the cage and attempted a no-hooks rear-naked choke. Kim escaped and he took top position again in side control. O’Reilly looked for a kimura from the bottom and Kim mounted him in the process. O’Reilly exploded out and battled back to his feet. He landed hard elbows and knees in a clinch before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Kim by a slim margin.

Round 3:
The final round also began with a lengthy clinch against the cage as Kim looked for takedowns and O’Reilly countered with elbows. O’Reilly took control of the clinch and he landed more short strikes in close as a fatigued Kim appeared to slow down. The fighters were separated and Kim finally got O’Reilly down into back control. He transitioned to mount, but O’Reilly swept and he finished the round with two right hands on the ground. Another close round. 10-9 O’Reilly.

Winner: Dong Hyun Kim by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-8-3.

 

Jamie Moyle vs Kailin Curran

Round 1:
Moyle scored a takedown in the opening seconds and landed short strikes from the top, but Curran battled back to her feet and landed two solid punches on the break. Moyle closed the distance and threw knees to the head and body while pinning Curran against the fence. Curran used a guillotine choke attempt to reverse the clinch and both women landed more knees. After separating, Moyle backed Curran up with overhand lefts and rights. The round ended with Moyle throwing knees to Curran’s legs in a clinch. 10-9 Moyle.

Round 2:
The second round began with Moyle mixing things up with knee-punch combos. She tried for a takedown and Curran countered with a brief guillotine choke. In close, Moyle landed three straight elbows to Curran’s temple before trying again for a takedown. Curran stayed on her feet and the fighters traded knees before separating. A leg kick and a one-two scored for Moyle, but Curran fired right back with a nice combination. She kept Moyle at bay with jabs, but Moyle secured a clinch with 80 seconds to go and scored a big slam takedown. Moyle was cut above the left eye in the process, but finished the round with hard ground and pound. 10-9 Moyle.

Round 3:
Moyle backed Curran up against the cage in the final round and she tried unsuccessfully for takedowns. Curran defended well and she countered with knees to the body. Moyle used a headlock throw to get Curran down, but she lost the position immediately and Curran struck from top position. Moyle scrambled up and time was called to check on the cut above her eye. Action resumed and Moyle countered a front kick from Curran with knees to the midsection. Looping hooks landed for Moyle and she took Curran down into half-guard. Curran regained full guard as Moyle dropped punches until the bell. Close round. 10-9 Moyle, barely.

Winner: Jamie Moyle by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 4-1-0.
