Angela Lee Submits Natalie Gonzales Hills At ONE: Pride Of LionsUndefeated strawweight prospect Angela “Unstoppable” Lee made history and picked up her biggest victory to date tonight at ONE Championship: “Pride of Lions” in Kallang, Singapore. The highly-touted 19-year-old Lee submitted Natalie “The Kilapino” Gonzales Hills with a first-round Twister.

Gonzales Hills unleashed a barrage of punches and knees in the opening seconds of the fight, but Lee weathered the early storm and she reversed a takedown with an impressive sweep. Her ground strikes forced Gonzales Hills to give up her back, which led to Lee’s third ONE Championship win.

Lee (3-0-0) and Gonzales Hills (2-3-0) exchanged knees to the body and overhand rights in the clinch right away, and Gonzales Hills held an early edge in the striking battles. She secured a takedown near the cage wall, but Lee used a slick leg sweep to reverse position into Gonzales Hills’s half-guard. She stood over her downed opponent, then dropped down into mount position. Punches from Lee prompted a bloodied Gonzales Hills to roll over and give up her back. Lee quickly locked on a Twister – the first in ONE Championship’s history – and Gonzales Hills hastily tapped out.

At just 19 years of age, Lee has rapidly developed into one of the brightest female stars on the ONE Championship roster. She has earned first-round submission victories in all three of her bouts for the promotion. Lee has also expressed an interest in moving up to flyweight or down to atomweight in order to continue to test herself against ONE Championship’s top female talent.

Winner: Angela Lee by Submission (Twister) at 2:24 of round one. She improves to 3-0-0.

  1. Problem. There isn’t any top female talent in ONE. And Lee is still a long way from being UFC or Invicta level. She’d get killed. She looks sloppy as hell.
