Mio Tsumura Dominates Mari At Shoot Boxing 2015: The Last Bomb2015 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup Champion Mio Tsumura picked up a dominant decision victory on Saturday night at Shoot Boxing 2015: “The Last Bomb” in Osaka, Japan. The fast-rising star handily defeated former J-Girls contender Mari in a one-sided matchup on the main card.

Establishing her dominance early on, Tsumura outstruck her opponent throughout the first two rounds of Saturday’s fight and she sealed her victory with an impressive suplex in round three. Tsumura has won seven straight fights and remains one of the top female stars on the Shoot Boxing roster.

Tsumura (20-2-0 SB) was very aggressive with punching flurries in the opening minute and she put Mari (3-8-2 SB/KB) on the defensive right away. Mari resorted to kicks in an attempt to keep Tsumura at bay, but they had little effect. In the second round, Tsumura mixed up her strikes with combinations to the body and head. Mari replied with hooks, but Tsumura repeatedly cracked her with straight right hands.

Already comfortably ahead on the scorecards, Tsumura did not let up on her offensive onslaught in the final round. She landed an early combination and took Mari’s back, then slammed her down to the mat with a belly-to-back suplex. The throw earned Tsumura two Shoot Points and put a stamp on what was one of her most dominant victories to date.

Scores were 30-26 twice and 30-25 for Tsumura, who was competing for the first time since capturing the 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup title in August by defeating three opponents in one night.

Winner: Mio Tsumura by Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26) after three 3:00 rounds. She improves her shoot boxing record to 20-2-0.
