Invicta FC 14 Bonuses: Jacobson vs Moyle Wins Fight Of The NightStandout wrestler Sharon “The Dream Catcher” Jacobson established herself as a strawweight contender with a big win tonight at Invicta Fighting Championships 14 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jacobson edged out Jamie Moyle and both women took home $1500 for Fight of the Night honours.

Tonight’s card also featured three Performance of the Night winners, who each walked away with an additional $1000 in bonus money. Bantamweight champion Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger, flyweight Andrea “KGB” Lee and strawweight J.J. Aldrich all picked up bonus-winning stoppage victories.

Jacobson (4-1-0) and Moyle (3-1-0) engaged in an entertaining back-and-forth bout to cap off tonight’s preliminary card. Both women scored with knees and elbows in clinch battles throughout the close opening round, and Jacobson recovered after getting rocked in round two by stunning Moyle with punches and taking her down to the mat. The final round clearly belonged to Jacobson, who controlled the action with ground and pound and pinned Moyle against the fence on the feet.

Scores were 29-28 and 30-27 twice for Jacobson, who took a big step up in the 115-pound rankings with the key victory. Moyle suffered her first professional defeat in the fight.

Evinger (18-5-0) did not have to defend her bantamweight title as originally planned, but she showcased her formidable grappling skills en route to a dismantling of the previously unbeaten Pannie “Banzai” Kianzad (8-1-0). Evinger mauled Kianzad with ground and pound and submission attempts until she was finally able to finish her off with punches at the 3:34 mark of round two.

Lee (3-1-0) repeatedly targeted the body of opponent Rachael Ostovich (2-2-0) throughout their fight and she nearly finished the Hawaiian with submission attempts and ground strikes in both rounds one and two. In the final round, Lee cut Ostovich with elbows from mount and transitioned to a late armbar from back control that forced Ostovich to submit at the 4:58 mark of round three.

Aldrich (2-1-0) made late replacement “Rollie” Rosa Acevedo (3-2-0) pay for missing weight by knocking her out with first-round knees. Aldrich hurt Acevedo with right hands and a knee to the body in close. As Acevedo doubled over, Aldrich drilled her with two knees to the face that left Acevedo unconscious on the mat at the 2:24 mark of round one.
