UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey vs Bethe “Pitbull” Correia

Round 1:
Rousey pressured Correia with uppercuts right away and Correia was forced to retreat to the cage after losing her balance. Rousey continued to batter her with punches and Correia was rocked two more times. A final right hook from Rousey sent an unconscious Correia careening face-first to the canvas and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Ronda Rousey by KO (Punch) at 0:34 of round one. She improves to 12-0-0 and remains the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

 

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs Antonio Rogerio “Minotouro” Nogueira

Round 1:
Nogueira countered an early body kick from Rua with a straight left hand. He followed with a short uppercut and Rua answered with a right hook. Two looping hooks landed for Nogueira and both men scored with left hooks. Rua punished Nogueira with a hard kick to the body, but Nogueira wobbled him with a left hook behind the ear. He swarmed on Rua with big power punches and rocked him again. Rua backed up against the cage and fired off punches in return. Nogueira attempted a standing guillotine choke and he finished the round with a knee. 10-9 Nogueira.

Round 2:
Rua took Nogueira down early in the second round and the crowd booed as he threw sparse strikes from the top. Nogueira swept and the fight returned to the feet. Rua kicked to the body and clinched against the fence. The fighters were separated and Nogueira landed a left cross, but Rua returned fire with two hard body kicks. 10-9 Rua.

Round 3:
Rua continued to find success with body kicks in round three and he shot in for a takedown, but Nogueira stuffed it. The fighters separated and Rua landed another powerful body kick. Nogueira tagged him with two left hands and he fought off another takedown attempt. Rua scored with a nice one-two and he pressured Nogueira with more punches. Rua took Nogueira down, but Nogueira countered with a tight guillotine choke. Rua stayed calm and pulled his head free. He landed three elbows before the final bell. 10-9 Rua.

Winner: Mauricio Rua by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 23-10-0.

 

The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 Lightweight Final

Glaico “Nego” França Moreira vs Fernando Bruno “Açougueiro”

Round 1:
França took Bruno’s back on the ground on the opening minute, but Bruno scrambled up and secured a very brief takedown of his own. França regained his footing and the fighters battled for position against the cage. França got Bruno down again and he took his back. Bruno stood and França threw him back down. He held Bruno down until the bell. 10-9 França.

Round 2:
The fighters engaged in a stalemate against the cage in round two as Bruno tried in vain to secure a takedown. França ultimately took the fight to the mat himself by dragging Bruno down, but Bruno wound up on top in his guard. França threw elbows from his back and escaped to his feet. He reversed a takedown and landed on Bruno’s back. França secured a body triangle and tried for a rear-naked choke. Bruno defended until time expired. 10-9 França.

Round 3:
Bruno took França’s back and pulled him down to the mat in the final round, but França escaped from a rear-naked choke and took back control himself as the fight returned to the feet. Bruno pressed forward with punches and he took França down. França returned to his feet and he scored a takedown of his own that allowed him to take Bruno’s back once more. França used punches to set up a rear-naked choke and Bruno tapped out to end the dreadful fight.

Winner: Glaico França Moreira by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:46 of round three. He improves to 13-3-0 and becomes the TUF Brazil 4 Lightweight Winner.

 

The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 Bantamweight Final

Reginaldo Vieira vs Dileno Lopes

Round 1:
Quick punches were exchanged right away and both men landed left and right hooks before separating. Vieira jumped into a flying guillotine choke and pulled half-guard. Lopes escaped and countered by jumping guard with a guillotine choke of his own. Vieira somehow manahed to escape from the tight choke and the fighters traded huge shots on the feet. Lopes rocked Vieira with punches and pulled guard with another guillotine. Vieira pulled his head free again. He connected with three right hooks on the feet and followed with a one-two. A bloodied Lopes fired back with a left cross. 10-9 Lopes, barely.

Round 2:
The pace slowed somewhat in the second round and the fighters traded one-twos and body kicks. Vieira mixed in leg kicks, but Lopes backed him up with a kick to the liver. More power punches landed for both men and Lopes countered a missed uppercut from Vieira by blasting him with a flurry. He took Vieira down and landed short punches. The fighters were stood up and Lopes landed one more body kick. 10-9 Lopes.

Round 3:
The final round began with both fighters throwing hooks and Lopes continued to bleed from near both eyes. He rushed forward with a hard combination, however, and took Vieira down soon after. Lopes pulled guard with another tight guillotine choke, but Vieira, now bleeding heavily from his nose, eventually escaped. Both men landed hammerfists on the ground until the end of the spirited fight. Very close round. 10-9 Lopes.

Winner: Reginaldo Vieira by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-3-0 and becomes the TUF Brazil 4 Bantamweight Winner.

 

Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve vs Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira

Round 1:
Nogueira closed the distance after landing a left hook and clinched against the cage. He threw short knees to the thighs and worked for a takedown. Struve stuffed it and wobbled Nogueira with a right hand. Nogueira clinched again and Struve pushed him away. He landed two more right hands and Nogueira pulled Struve down to the mat. Struve stood and Nogueira was forced to follow. He punched over the top and Struve answered with a chopping leg kick. Nogueira rocked him with a combination, but Struve recovered and landed a knee. He finished the round with a leg kick and a right hook. 10-9 Struve.

Round 2:
Struve kicked to the lead leg and body of Nogueira in round two and Nogueira pressed forward with three punches over the top. He took Struve’s back and dragged him down to the mat. Nogueira nearly locked on a rear-naked choke, but Struve rolled over and got back to his feet. Stiff jabs and a knee landed for Struve, who fought off a takedown attempt. He backed Nogueira up with an uppercut and a knee. Struve jabbed and threw front kicks to the body. He landed another hard leg kick and a knee, then stunned Nogueira with a right hand. 10-9 Struve.

Round 3:
Nogueira scored a brief takedown in the final round, but Struve scrambled up and landed an uppercut. He continued to target Nogueira’s lead leg with kicks until Nogueira clinched against the fence. Struve broke away and landed a vicious head kick, but Nogueira barely flinched. More leg and body kicks scored for Struve, who snapped Nogueira’s head back with jabs. STruve picked Nogueira apart with crisp punches and leg kicks in the final minute. 10-9 Struve.

Winner: Stefan Struve by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 26-7-0.

 

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva vs Soa “The Hulk” Palelei

Round 1:
Palelei fought through an early knee from Silva and clinched against the cage. He was unable to get Silva down and the fighters separated. Silva grazed with an upprecut and he followed with another knee. Little transpired until Palelei tossed Silva to the mat. He struck from the top in Silva’s half-guard. More punches scored for Palelei in the final seconds and Silva narrowly made it to the bell. 10-9 Palelei.

Round 2:
Silva hurt Palelei with an uppercut and a knee early in the second round. Palelei wilted against the cage and Silva kept the pressure on with standing elbows. He dropped Palelei with an uppercut and continued to throw punches until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Antonio Silva by TKO (Punches) at 0:41 of round two. He improves to 19-7-1.

 

Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha vs Jessica “Jag” Aguilar

Round 1:
Quick punches were exchanged right away and Gadelha landed a nice knee to the face. She followed with lead left hooks and another knee. Gadelha backed Aguilar up with a three-punch flurry and kicked to the body. Another left hook and a hard knee scored for Gadelha. Aguilar came up short with a combination and Gadelha tagged her with an uppercut. Aguilar finally connected with a quick flurry, but Gadelha immediately answered back with punches and a knee. She bloodied Aguilar’s nose with jabs and slammed her down to the mat. She held back control until the bell. 10-9 Gadelha.

Round 2:
Gadelha opened round two with a combination and she hurt Aguilar with a powerful right hook. Aguilar retreated to the cage and Gadelha threw elbows over the top. She slammed Aguilar down again, but Aguilar battled back to her feet and landed short knees in the clinch. The fighters separated and Gadelha continued to control the striking exchanges with punching flurries. Aguilar landed two right hands and Gadelha fired back with an uppercut. Two more uppercuts and a left hook scored for Gadelha, and she finished the round with a knee and a takedown. 10-9 Gadelha.

Round 3:
A hard knee and a right hand landed for Gadelha early in the final round, but Aguilar countered with a pair of leg kicks. Gadelha stunned her with a one-two and she followed with a lunging left hook. Aguilar tried for a takedown and Gadelha stuffed it. Aguilar’s right eye swelled up and Gadelha broke away with an elbow. Aguilar flurried, but Gadelha stopped her momentum with a counter one-two. Aguilar chopped away at Gadelha’s lead leg and Gadelha’s punches began to slow down, but she took Aguilar down into her guard. Gadelha tried to take Aguilar’s back at the bell. 10-9 Gadelha.

Winner: Claudia Gadelha by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 13-1-0.
