Ruslan “Leopard” Magomedov vs Josh “Cuddly Bear” Copeland

Round 1:
After an early exchange of strikes, Magomedov backed Copeland up with a powerful right hand. Copeland recovered and Magomedov landed jabs. Copeland pressed forward with a nice one-two and Magamodov circled away. He put together a combination of punches and finished with a head kick. Magomedov mixed things up with kicks to the lead leg and upper body of Copeland, who struggled to land anything. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 2:
Magomedov landed single punches and kicks in round two, but he refused to commit to any sustained offence and Copeland scored with two right hands. Magomedov backed him up with a four-punch combination and a leg kick. Both men landed lead left hooks and Copeland connected with a lunging punch. Magomedov hurt him with a barrage of punches and kicks to the upper body. Copeland weathered the storm and backed Magomedov up with haymakers. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 3:
Magomedov opened round three with hard kicks to the body and he followed with a Superman punch. Copeland rushed forward with a flurry and connected with a nice left hook. Magomedov clinched and the fighters traded knees to the body. Referee Kerry Hatley separated the fighters and Magomedov threw a kick-punch combo. Looping hooks were exchanged and Magomedov backed Copeland up with a body kick. Magomedov ducked under a wild right hook and dumped Copeland to the mat at the bell. 10-9 Magomedov.

Winner: Ruslan Magomedov by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-1-0.

 

Roger “The Silverback” Narvaez vs Luke “The Bigslow” Barnatt

Round 1:
Narvaez landed a looping right hook in the opening minute, but time was called after he was simultaneously kicked in the groin. The fight continued and Narvaez connected with a left cross. Barnatt kicked to the body and avoided a head kick. More body kicks scored for Barnatt, but Narvaez snuck in a lead right hook. The fighters traded looping punches and Barnatt landed a hard right hand. He countered a clinch by throwing Narvaez forward and the round ended on the feet. 10-9 Barnatt.

Round 2:
Barnatt jabbed in round two and the fighters exchanged body kicks. Narvaez shot in for a takedown and Barnatt stuffed it. Right hooks landed for both men and the crowd began to boo the lack of action. Barnatt responded by cutting Narvaez on the forehead with a one-two. More body kicks were exchanged and Narvaez landed an uppercut. He circled to the side and threw left hands as Barnatt closed in with kicks. He finished the round strong with an uppercut in close. 10-9 Barnatt.

Round 3:
Barnatt countered a leg kick with a nice kick to the liver in the final round. Narvaez wobbled him with a head kick and dropped him with punches. A dazed Barnatt held on as Narvaez dropped elbows from the top. More punches scored for Narvaez and he took Barnatt’s back. Barnatt fought off three rear-naked chokes and he regained full guard in a scramble. A fatigued Narvaez landed very little from top position in the final 90 seconds. Barnatt stood shortly before the bell and landed a head kick and a right hand. 10-8 Narvaez.

Winner: Roger Narvaez by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 7-1-0.

 

James “The Texecutioner” Vick vs “Sergeant” Nick Hein

Round 1:
Vick opened the fight with a series of kicks to the upper body and Hein replied with a lead right hook. More kicks landed for Vick and he kept his distance. Hein countered a kick with a left hook that dropped Vick and he followed with punches on the ground. Vick swept into Hein’s guard and the fight returned to the feet. Vick threw a series of head kicks that were blocked and Hein countered a knee by dropping Vick with another left hook. Vick recovered and stood up, and he pressed forward with side kicks late in the round. 10-9 Hein.

Round 2:
Vick once again pressed the action with kicks in the second round and Hein countered from a distance. A combination scored for Vick and he followed with a right hand. Hein ducked into a knee and Vick landed a stiff jab. He cut Hein with a grazing head kick and avoided a counter flurry. Vick missed with wild punches, but connected with a one-two. Hein answered with a left hook, but Vick escaped from a Hein clinch attempt. Hein tried for a spinning backfist in the final seconds. 10-9 Vick.

Round 3:
Hein landed inside leg kicks and occasional left hooks in the opening minute of round three. He followed with a three-punch flurry and Vick countered with jabs. Hein closed in with left hooks and ate a right cross for his troubles. Vick landed another right hand and avoided many of Hein’s counters. Vick knocked Hein’s mouthpiece out with a right cross and he kept Hein at bay as time ticked down. Vick circled away and Hein was unable to land anything before the bell sounded. 10-9 Vick.

Winner: James Vick by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 7-0-0.

 

Akbarh “El Caballero” Arreola vs Yves “Thugjitsu Master” Edwards

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of power punches and Arreola just missed with a head kick. He walked Edwards down with body kicks and Edwards countered with a chopping leg kick. Arreola dropped Edwards with an uppercut and dove in with more strikes. Edwards survived and returned to his feet, but Arreola caught a head kick and slammed him down. From mount, Arreola locked on an armbar and Edwards was forced to submit.

Winner: Akbarh Arreola by Submission (Armbar) at 1:52 of round one. He improves to 23-8-1.

 

“12 Gauge” Paige VanZant vs Kailin Curran

Round 1:
Hard punches and leg kicks were exchanged right away and VanZant clinched against the cage. Curran countered with a standing elbow and VanZant answered with a combination. She shot in for a takedown, but Curran stuffed it and scored with more punches on the feet. She threw VanZant to the mat and briefly worked from the scarf hold position, but VanZant escaped to her feet and landed short knees and punches. Curran countered VanZant’s strikes with punches in close and she took VanZant down.

Curran avoided one of VanZant’s armbar attempts by landing punches and slammed her way free of another one. VanZant continued to attack with armbars from the bottom, but Curran escaped each time by landing punches. VanZant tried for a double armbar and Curran punished her with a big right hand. VanZant swept with 20 seconds to go and rained down huge shots from the top that nearly finished the fight. Curran narrowly held on and swept back before the bell. Fantastic round. 10-9 VanZant.

Round 2:
VanZant reversed a rolling takedown in round two and landed a series of right hands on the way up. She held Curran against the fence and landed punches and knees to Curran’s face. Curran threw her to the ground and looked to score with knees as VanZant stood up, but VanZant prevented her from landing anything. Curran briefly got her down again, but VanZant sprung back to her feet. She prevented Curran from escaping the clinch and continued to throw knees to the body and head. Curran took her down and VanZant attempted an armbar. 10-9 VanZant.

Round 3:
VanZant got Curran down against the base of the cage in round three and landed punches and knees on the way up. Curran reversed the clinch and threw knees to the body. VanZant attempted a takedown and stomped away at Curran’s feet. She threw Curran on her face and landed a series of unanswered left hands until referee Kerry Hatley stopped the fight.

Winner: Paige VanZant by TKO (Punches) at 2:54 of round three. She improves to 4-1-0.

 

“The Korean Superboy” Doo Ho Choi vs Juan Manuel “Fenix” Puig

Round 1:
Choi dropped Puig with a big right hook very early in the fight and he followed with more punches on the ground. Puig rolled to his side and turtled up, and the brief bout was stopped.

Winner: Doo Ho Choi by TKO (Punches) at 0:18 of round one. He improves to 12-1-0.
