The event was headlined by a brief heavyweight matchup between Stipe Miocic and Fabio Maldonado.

Stipe Miocic vs Fabio Maldonado

Round 1:
Maldonado rushed forward with punches right away, but Miocic stunned him with a counter combination. He dropped Maldonado with a right hand soon after and dove in with punches on the ground until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Stipe Miocic by TKO (Punches) at 0:35 of round one. He improves to 12-1-0.

 

TUF Brazil 3 Heavyweight Final

Antônio “Cara de Sapato” Carlos Jr. vs Vitor “Lex Luthor” Miranda

Round 1:
Carlos jabbed and flurried with punches early on. Miranda countered with a clinch and Carlos reversed against the fence. Time was called after Miranda was kneed in the groin. Action resumed and Carlos walked Miranda down with kicks and a powerful right hand. He took Miranda down and landed more punches as the fight returned to the feet. Carlos mixed up his strikes with punches and a body kick. Miranda had success with kicks of his own, but Carlos finished the round strong with a combination. 10-9 Carlos.

Round 2:
Carlos caught a kick and took Miranda down in round two. He mounted Miranda and landed punches until Miranda scrambled back to half-guard. Carlos dropped back for a heel hook and Miranda stood up. He kicked at Carlos’s legs and dropped down into his guard. Carlos locked on a triangle choke from the bottom and Miranda powered out. Carlos tried to take Miranda’s back and Miranda countered with elbows to the leg and face. The fighters stood and Carlos landed a combination. 10-9 Carlos.

Round 3:
Miranda landed leg kicks in the final round and Carlos took him down. He briefly moved to side control, but Miranda used the cage to work back to his feet. Carlos slammed him down again and struck from the top in Miranda’s guard. Miranda stood and attempted a hip toss, but Carlos reversed and took his back. Carlos transitioned from side control to mount in the final 20 seconds. 10-9 Carlos.

Winner: Antônio Carlos Jr. by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 4-0-0 and becomes the TUF Brazil 3 Heavyweight Winner.

 

TUF Brazil 3 Middleweight Final

Warlley Alves vs Marcio “Lyoto” Alexandre Jr.

Round 1:
Alexandre landed a head kick very early in the fight, but Alves dropped him with a right hand. He landed punches from the top and attempted a guillotine choke as Alexandre stood. Alves held Alexandre against the cage and slammed him down into side control. Alexandre scrambled up and the fighters clinched again. Body kicks were exchanged later in the round and Alves threw a spinning hook kick and a powerful right hook. He briefly took Alexandre down and the round ended in a clinch. 10-9 Alves.

Round 2:
Alexandre kept his distance with kicks early in round two, but Alves closed in and took him down. He landed punches from the top, then stood and dropped an axe kick to the upper chest. From Alexandre’s half-guard, Alves landed short elbows. The fight returned to the feet and Alves held Alexandre against the cage. In the final 90 seconds, Alexandre landed a hard body kick and Alves clinched once more. Both men landed left hands late in the round. 10-9 Alves.

Round 3:
Alves rocked Alexandre with a huge right hand early in round three. He jumped guard with a guillotine choke and Alexandre was rendered unconscious within seconds.

Winner: Warlley Alves by Technical Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 0:25 of round three. He improves to 7-0-0 and becomes the TUF Brazil 3 Middleweight Winner.

 

Demian Maia vs Alexander “Bad Boy” Yakovlev

Round 1:
Maia pressed the action in round one as Yakovlev circled on the outside and kept his distance to avoid being taken down. Maia dropped him with an overhand left and dropped down into mount. Yakovlev held on as Maia landed elbows from the top. More elbows scored for Maia and he dominated the round from top position until time expired. 10-8 Maia.

Round 2:
The fighters traded punches in round two and Maia tripped Yakovlev back down to the mat. He mounted him again and landed short punches to the body. Yakovlev swept into Maia’s guard and Maia rolled for a leglock. Yakovlev punched free and attempted a guillotine choke. Maia escaped and tied him up from the bottom. 10-9 Maia.

Round 3:
Yakovlev kicked at Maia’s lead leg in round three and followed with a one-two. He took Maia down into side control, but Maia sprung back to his feet. A nice combination stunned Maia and Yakovlev kept the pressure on with kicks. Maia scored a takedown and immediately mounted Yakovlev. He landed short punches and elbows from the top and kept Yakovlev pinned down. Yakovlev scrambled back to half-guard briefly, but Maia returned to mount and attempted an armbar. Yakovlev escaped and landed an upkick just before the end of the fight. 10-9 Maia.

Winner: Demian Maia by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 19-6-0.

 

Robbie “Problems” Peralta vs Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra

Round 1:
Peralta opened the fight with a rushing flurry of punches and Bezerra responded with a jumping switch knee. Peralta held him against the fence, but Bezerra reversed a takedown and took his back. The fighters scrambled back to their feet and Bezerra countered a right hand with a spinning back elbow. Peralta mixed things up with kicks and both men landed looping hooks. Bezerra used a leg-sweep trip to momentarily get Peralta down and he followed with a left-right combo as Peralta stood up. Bezerra landed two hard right hooks and a flying knee before the bell. 10-9 Bezerra.

Round 2:
Peralta kicked at Bezerra’s legs in the second round and Bezerra backed him up with a combination. Peralta swarmed on him with punches and clinched against the cage. Bezerra tripped Peralta and worked from his half-guard. Peralta swept and wound up on top in Bezerra’s guard. Bezerra attempted a triangle choke and Peralta stood up. Back on the feet, Bezerra landed a leg kick and Peralta sent him backpedalling with a three-punch combo. Both men landed leg kicks and right hands. The close round ended with a big exchange of power punches. 10-9 Peralta, barely.

Round 3:
The final round began with an exchange of body kicks and Peralta landed a one-two. He rushed in with a lengthy flurry and Bezerra circled to the side. Time was called after Peralta was poked in the eye. The fight continued and Peralta landed a series of kicks. Right hands scored for both fighters and Bezerra clinched. He tried for a takedown, but Peralta immediately returned to his feet. A hard right hook sent Bezerra off-balance and Bezerra shot in for a takedown. He got Peralta down, but Peralta reversed before the final bell. 10-9 Peralta.

Winner: Robbie Peralta by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 27-30) after three rounds. He improves to 18-4-0, 1 NC.
