A near-riot and a number of late changes marred an otherwise entertaining set of fights at Revolution Fighting Champion 1 on Friday night in Beirut, Lebanon. Among the bouts scrapped from the card was a planned women’s matchup between Maiju “Mai” Kujala and Juliana “Thai” Carneiro Lima.
Tempers flared in the audience as the opening amateur fight was about to begin. A crowd brawl broke out, but the parties involved were subdued and the event proceeded as planned. Kujala discussed the cancellation of her fight and her immediate future with MMARising.com earlier today.
Kujala (6-3-0) had expected to face the unbeaten Carneiro Lima (3-0-0) in one of two women’s bouts on the card. Both fighters were set to return to the cage for the first time since early September. However, the fight was not to be, as Kujala was forced off of the card due to a health condition detected during standard pre-fight medical tests on Thursday.
In a statement this morning, Kujala informed MMARising.com that she does not expect to be kept out of action for long and a planned April 14th bout with Ukraine’s Lena “Hunter” Ovchynnikova will not be affected. The April fight takes place at Lappeenranta Fight Night 7 in Kujala’s home country of Finland.
Friday’s RFC 1 event was originally set to air on a local television network, but a late change resulted in its removal from the schedule. Despite this, fans in attendance witnessed a night of action-packed fights that featured some of the region’s top prospects. A second RFC event may take place in the coming months, though a targeted date and location have yet to be announced.

Actually No Crowd Brawl Broke, it was actually just a little tension between two amateur fighters which was contained and they both kept in the cage and at the end both showed respect and everything went as discussed….
As for Maiju’s Health Condition, she will be perfectly fine very soon, and she will be invited again to participate in an upcoming RFC Event.
That’s good. There’s a photo that I was sent that has a fairly small section of the audience arguing rather passionately with each other and seemingly holding an amateur fighter back, but this is all outside of the cage. Not inside. It sounded like the event went fairly well after that situation was dealt with and most of the comments I saw from people in attendance spoke highly of the fights themselves.
