Sarah Kaufman vs Alexis Davis

Round 1:
Both women landed a series of punches in the opening seconds and Davis held her own. She scored with a flurry of uppercuts, but Kaufman wobbled her briefly with a counter one-two. The fighters clinched momentarily and Kaufman landed knees. Davis continued to score with uppercuts in the clinch, but Kaufman began to find her range and put together a lengthy combination that caused Davis’s face to swell up. More punches landed for Kaufman and Davis began to bleed from above the left eye.

Time was called to check the cut, but the fight was allowed to continue. She resumed punching and began to mix up her strikes with kicks. Kaufman continued to outstrike Davis with crisp punches and she backed her up to the cage. Davis landed a knee and a leg kick. Kaufman landed a combination, but Davis fired back one of her own. Davis cut Kaufman near the hairline with a standing elbow and she followed with front kicks to the body. Excellent opening round. 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 2:
Kaufman got the better of the punching exchange that opened round two and her jab continued to mark up Davis’s face. Davis was game and answered back with punches and a body kick. Kaufman clinched and landed a knee, but Davis found success with uppercuts as Kaufman backed her up to the cage. Kaufman ducked under a looping right hook and landed a counter right cross.

Two more rights and a jab scored for Kaufman and she sent Davis off-balance with a left hook to the temple. Davis threw kicks to the body and missed with one to the head. In a clinch, Kaufman landed a standing elbow and backed away. Davis landed a leg kick and two knees to the body. Two more knees found the mark for Davis and Kaufman flurried with punches as the round ended. 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 3:
Davis countered punches from Kaufman with leg kicks and knees in the final round. Kaufman landed a one-two and ate one in return. In the clinch, Kaufman stuck to punches over the top while Davis threw knees to the body and uppercuts. She took Kaufman down and landed in side control. Davis landed elbows and worked for an armbar.

Kaufman could not get to her feet, but managed to sweep. Davis reversed back into side control and landed more elbows. Kaufman tried to scramble out, but Davis kept her down. Davis moved to back control and then back to the top in half-guard. She landed a series of punches with her left hand until time expired. 10-9 Davis. Bordering on a 10-8. Fantastic fight.

Winner: Sarah Kaufman by Majority Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-29) after three rounds. She improves to 15-1-0.

 

“Relentless” Roger Bowling vs Brandon “White Steel” Saling

Round 1:
Saling caught a kick early on and landed a right hook. The fighters exchanged power punches and both landed a pair of hooks in close. Bowling tried for a takedown, but Saling stuffed it. More huge punches landed for both fighters and Saling sent Bowling off-balance briefly. Bowling recovered and landed a knee and a right hook. Saling hurt him again with a series of looping punches.

Bowling took Saling down and worked for an armbar, but Saling stood and landed a series of punches. Bowling fired back with knees and took him down again. Bowling moved to a top-side crucifix and landed punches as Saling attempted to push off of the cage. Bowling trapped Saling’s arms and scored with a series of punches and elbows. He cut Saling on the forehead with elbows, but Saling made it to the bell. 10-9 Bowling.

Round 2:
Bowling took Saling down early in the second round and moved back to the top-side crucifix. He landed a series of punches that bounced Saling’s head off of the canvas. Bowling continued to throw punches until referee Mark Matheny had seen enough and called a stop to the fight.

Winner: Roger Bowling by TKO (Punches) at 1:15 of round two. He improves to 11-2-0.

 

Pat “Bam Bam” Healy vs Caros “The Future” Fodor

Round 1:
Big punches were exchanged right away and Fodor initiated a clinch. Healy reversed and tripped him to a knee. Fodor stood and the fighters battled for position in the clinch. Fodor rocked Healy with a flurry of punches that forced him to backpedal. Healy recovered, but Fodor took him down against the cage.

Fodor landed short punches from the top and looked to pass, but Healy escaped out the back. Healy took Fodor down and postured up in his guard. Fodor worked for submissions from his back as Healy punched from the top. Fodor kicked to the body from his back and landed a right hand, but Healy kept the pressure on with punches until the bell. Close round. 10-9 Healy.

Round 2:
A quick punching exchanged opened round two and Healy missed with a kick to the body. Both fighters landed jabs and leg kicks in close. Healy backed Fodor up to the cage and tried for a takedown. Fodor sprawled out, then hopped on one leg to prevent Healy from getting him down. Healy swept out his legs and got Fodor to his back.

Fodor sat up and worked for a guillotine choke. He used it to stand up, but Healy took his back and tripped him to the mat. Healy landed short strikes from the top in half-guard and the crowd began to boo the lack of action. Healy looked for an arm-triangle choke and passed to the side, then to full mount. He punched until the end of the round. 10-9 Healy.

Round 3:
As in the first two rounds, the fighters traded punches in the opening seconds of round three. Healy took Fodor down against the cage and quickly moved to mount. Fodor defended well and Healy was unable to land much of anything. Fodor got back to half-guard, but Healy freed his left hand and snuck in some short punches to annoy his opponent.

Healy briefly held a top-side crucifix and landed punches, then secured a shoulder choke. He tried to pass Fodor’s guard to change to an arm-triangle choke, but Fodor bucked him off and looked for a leglock. Healy remained calm and secured another arm-triangle. This time, he passed to side control successfully and Fodor tapped out.

Winner: Pat Healy by Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) at 3:35 of round three. He improves to 27-16-0.

 

Ryan Couture vs Conor “Hurricane” Heun

Round 1:
The fighters traded cautious jabs early on and Heun landed a lead left hook. He looked for a takedown, but Couture defended and both fighters landed knees to the body in a clinch. Couture reversed position and scored with knees to the thigh. Heun landed an elbow and Couture backed away. A right cross connected for Couture and he followed with a leg kick.

Heun attempted a head kick and missed. Couture landed another hard right hand. And another. Heun took him down, but Couture immediately tried for an omoplata. A bloodied Heun escaped to his feet, then took Couture down again. Heun landed elbows and tried for a front choke as Couture got to his feet. Couture landed an overhand right and a spinning back kick. 10-9 Couture.

Round 2:
Heun landed a grazing spinning heel kick in the second round and continued to mix up his strikes with varied kicks. He latched onto Couture’s leg and landed a head kick as Couture defended. Couture landed a one-two, but missed with an uppercut and Heun slammed him down. Couture worked for a Kimura as Heun landed elbows to the body. He let it go and regained full guard.

Couture postured for an armbar and a triangle choke. Heun pulled his head free and stood up. He worked for another front choke as Couture stood up. Couture scrambled out and took Heun’s back. Couture locked on a rear-naked choke, but Heun escaped and the fighters stood again. Heun pulled guard and postured for an armbar, but time expired. 10-9 Couture.

Round 3:
Couture was the more active fighter early in the final round and he landed a front kick and a right cross. He took Heun down, but this time Heun countered with a Kimura. Couture moved to mount, but Heun pushed off of the cage to escape. Couture wound up on top in side control, where he landed elbows to the thighs. Heun gave up his back and Couture sunk in both hooks. Couture landed punches and flattened Heun out. His punches lacked power, but Heun did little to defend himself and the bout was stopped.

Winner: Ryan Couture by TKO (Punches) at 2:52 of round three. He improves to 4-1-0.
